Why we chose credits over subscriptions

Almost every software product sells on a subscription today. We tried it – and in the end deliberately chose not to. Here’s why.

The problem with subscriptions

Arcarius is a broad platform: from One-on-One to Closing, Reporting, and Rebooking. And every customer is different. Some are fiduciaries who need 50 annual financial statements, 30 annual reports, and dozens of monthly closings a year. Others are startups themselves, using Arcarius mainly to keep an eye on their finances and report to investors.

Defining “the right package” for needs that different would mean forcing people into boxes we can’t honestly stand behind. So we pulled the plug.

Our approach: only pay for real results

Instead of a monthly fee, you top up credits. They’re deducted automatically based on your request and the amount of data – no strings attached. For Reporting, Closing, and Rebooking we work with fixed prices; in One-on-One, prices are slightly variable because the underlying AI costs depend on your request.

The nice part: if your company incurs lower AI costs – for example because it has few transactions – we pass those savings straight back to you. You simply have more credits left over.

What this means for you

  • Maximum flexibility: credits apply to all your companies and all features. Buy as many as you want, whenever you want.
  • Start small: try Arcarius at your own pace and let it convince you.
  • No hidden fees: onboarding, support, the knowledge base, additional users or companies – all free.
  • No surprises: if your balance isn’t enough for a request, you’re notified in advance. Corrections or re-runs on a closing or report are included – you pay one fixed price per closing and report.

Transparency instead of lock-in

We’re convinced by Arcarius – and we believe you’ll get along with it well, too. That’s why you only pay for what you actually use. In return, we hope for your openness to try something new: no subscription, but maximum freedom.

Let’s dare to try something new, together.
